Ana Patricia : Vocalist


Ana Patricia was born on the 29th of January of 1983, in Maracay, Venezuela. Her childhood is spent in Portugal, where her love for music is born, singing at school events, family gatherings and friends' parties.

A few years later, already living in Canada, she decides to face her lovefor music on a more serious note, first by taking piano lessons, and latersinging lessons with Luis Filipe Neves. In the meantime, she begins to participate in various community events, which make her well known in the Portuguese and Spanish Communities of Canada and the USA.

When still quite young, she had the opportunity to participate in highly respected events in the community and other such as the Canadian Music Week...

In 1997, she records her first album called, "Vem a Mim"(Come to Me), which included a track dedicated to her blind grandfather. With the release of this album, her live shows duplicate and she gets the opportunity to perform alongside other great artists. In 1999, she decides to move to Portugal, where she joins a musical group from the region of Aveiro, with which she travels all over Portugal. As a member of this group, she is given the opportunity to share the stage with several famous Portuguese artists like Quim Barreiros,Iran Costa, Ricardo & Henrique, Romana, Nel Monteiro, Clemente, among others.

In 2001 after a stay of a year and a half in Portugal, she decides to return to Canada, where up to the present date she has come to participate in the "Festival da Canção da CIRV", (CIRV Song Festival), Portuguese Day at Sky Dome, Portuguese Cultural Day at CNE, Portugal Day celebrations at Trinity Bellwoods Park and many other community festivals. Recently, she was given the great honour to perform for the Portuguese Member of Parliament, Dr. Eduardo Moreira at the official closing ceremony of the 50 Years of Portuguese Immigration in Canada celebrations.

In 2001, she records a single called "Swing Da Cor", (Swing of Colour) which was distributed among radio stations as promo album. In 2002, she joins the Association of Community Artists of A.C.A.P.O., where she participated in the first volume of the "Voz da Aliança" collection (The Voice of the Alliance).

In 2001, she releases her second album called, "Livre", (Free), full ofrhythm and contagious energy. This album includes 10 tracks inPortuguese, English and Spanish, four of which were own compositions.The launching was a huge success, highly complimented by the media and extraordinarily well accepted by the public. Presently, "Livre" (Free) is playing on several Portuguese radio stations throughout the world, such as in Portugal, France, Germany, Bermuda, California, USA and Canada. Ana Patricia has also completed a promo tour in Portugal, having made several guest appearances on radio and television. Currently, negotiations with a Portuguese record label to promote her album in Portugal and other lusophone countries are under way.
